Compliance Tools — Privacy Disclosures

What the Compliance Tools collect

Chow420’s on-page compliance calculators (the home-page End-to-End Hemp Compliance section, the per-product Compliance Calculator, and the related 50-state hemp law pages) are anonymous tools. You do not need to log in to use them, and we do not require you to provide your name, email, address, date of birth, or any other personally identifying information in order to receive a compliance verdict.

Local browser storage

When you pick a state in a compliance calculator, your browser saves that selection in its local storage (under keys such as cp_state_slug or hc_state_slug) so the next page you visit can pre-fill your state. This value never leaves your browser. It is not transmitted to Chow420 servers, ChowIndex, advertising partners, or analytics providers, and it is not linked to your Chow420 account. You can clear it at any time by clearing your browser’s site data for chow420.com, or by switching to a private/incognito window.

Server-side aggregates

Standard request logs (IP address, user agent, page URL, timestamp) generated when you load a page containing a compliance calculator are retained under the same retention rules described in Data Retention above. We may also count aggregate, non-identifying usage of the calculators (for example, “total calculator loads per day”) for product analytics. These aggregates do not identify you individually.

Data sources — ChowIndex

The thresholds, status pills, and verdicts shown by the Compliance Tools are derived from (i) state agency publications, (ii) Certificate-of-Analysis (COA) data submitted by third-party manufacturers and laboratories, and (iii) data feeds provided by ChowIndex, an independent transparency index for lab-tested hemp. We do not share your personal information with ChowIndex in connection with the Compliance Tools. The data flow is one-way: ChowIndex publishes compliance data to Chow420, not the other way around. If you choose to click the “Powered by ChowIndex” link, you will leave Chow420 and be subject to ChowIndex’s own privacy policy.

Cookies and tracking

The Compliance Tools themselves do not set additional cookies beyond those already disclosed in the Cookies and Tracking Technologies section above. The state-selection value uses localStorage, not a cookie, and is therefore not transmitted on requests.

Your choices

Clear your saved state at any time by clearing site data for chow420.com.
Use the calculators in private/incognito mode — no value will persist.
Decline to use the calculators — the rest of the Site continues to function.
