Cannabinoids, Measured

Most cannabinoid guides describe compounds in the abstract. This one is built from the certificates of analysis published with the products on this site — 819 positive readings across 11 distinct cannabinoids.

Ranges are wide because product form varies enormously — a concentrate and a hemp flower sit at opposite ends of every scale. Read a figure against the product it came from, not against the category.

Cannabinoids we test for and do not find

THCP, HHC, Delta-10 THC — no positive readings in the current catalogue.

These have real search demand and plenty of marketing behind them. We publish the absence rather than imply coverage we do not have; each page below explains the chemistry regardless.

Common questions

What are the main cannabinoids in hemp?

CBD and Delta-9 THC are the most commonly measured, but a full-spectrum product carries many more. Across 819 positive readings in this catalogue we record 11 distinct cannabinoids, including CBG, CBN, CBC, CBDA, CBGA, CBDV, THCA and THCV.

What is the difference between a cannabinoid and its acidic form?

Acidic forms such as THCA, CBDA and CBGA carry a carboxyl group that the plant produces them with. Heat removes that group in a reaction called decarboxylation, converting THCA to Delta-9 THC, CBDA to CBD and CBGA to CBG. The acid and the neutral form are different molecules with different measured values.

Which cannabinoid decides whether a product is legal hemp?

Delta-9 THC under the 2018 Farm Bill, measured at no more than 0.3% by dry weight. Newer federal language uses Total THC, which adds the THCA that would convert on heating, so the same product can pass one test and fail the other.

Why do minor cannabinoids show such small percentages?

Because the plant spends its CBGA precursor building whichever cannabinoid the cultivar is bred for. What remains of the other pathways appears in fractions of a percent. Small numbers are normal and are evidence of a full profile, not of a weak product.
